According to Alvar Aedma, the head of the road maintenance department of Tariston AS, the agreement is very important for the local unit of Tariston in Järva County, located in Sillaotsa. ‘All the employees of the Järva County Centre of Tariston are local people, and all road maintenance is carried out and organised directly from the centre of Järva County, Sillaotsa. The agreement guarantees us 5 years of work, during which we can involve new specialists and renew the technical park. We plan to purchase road maintenance machines that are more efficient and more environmentally friendly: the new machines have more efficient engines that use less fuel and have a smaller footprint than the previous ones,’ added Alvar Aedma.

The contractual cost of the works for the first year of the maintenance period (1 October 2020 – 30 September 2021) is 2.13 million euros + VAT. The cost of maintenance for the following years is determined on the basis of the costs of routine maintenance performed in the first year and unit prices of maintenance and repair work, which are adjusted by the consumer price index of the previous period published by the Statistical Office.
