“This is a barrack to be built according to the twelfth standard project, which brings together the living and study rooms and equipment and maintenance rooms in one building. Each barrack accommodates 300 people and provides 30 jobs. The same main project with minor changes has been used in almost all military units,” said Mario Metsoja, the Portfolio Manager for the Western region, Infrastructure Service Bureau at ECDI. “The construction of standard barracks has contributed to the acceleration of design and construction work and has enabled us to reach the contract at the better price than planned,” Metsoja added.
"The quality of the service conditions of our defence forces is an important component to ensure a high level of both national defence training and its inseparably supporting and necessary rest. High-quality infrastructure provides servicemen in the military base with a better opportunity to focus on their main activity,” said Priit Luman, the Member of the Management Board of Nordecon AS. “Nordecon has previously had an opportunity to contribute its competence and experience to the construction of both Tapa and Jõhvi military campuses, and we are happy to continue the same work in Paldiski.”
The work under the agreement will begin in the Paldiski military base in September 2020 and end by the end of 2021.
