Nordecon: Vanamõisa water system completed one year ahead of schedule

Nordecon AS recently completed design and construction work on the joint water system and sewage pipelines of the Saue-Vanamõisa waste water collection area, providing high-quality water and sewerage services to residents in the area almost a year ahead of schedule.

"It makes a great Christmas present for the residents of Vanamõisa, and for everyone involved in the project!" said Erkki Suurorg, a member of the management board of Nordecon AS. "They’ve been waiting so long for a truly high-quality water system like this, and now they’ve gotten it a year early. We handed the system over to the client, AS Kovek, last week.  As a builder, you don’t often come across situations where a 730-day deadline is met in just 378 – that’s basically half the time! It’s the kind of thing you can only achieve with the full cooperation of everyone involved – the client, the construction supervisors, the designers, the builders, the local government and of course the people who’ll be using it. And as the builders behind it we’d like to thank all of them for making it possible."

The project saw the ‘old’ section of the village of Vanamõisa – by Suurevälja Road and surrounding streets – fitted with completely new water and sewage pipelines.

Construction work saw 72 properties connected to the new drinking water and sewerage system. This required 8.5 km of pipelines, five waste water pumping stations and a water processing plant to be designed and installed and a brand new dual bore well pumping station to be erected in place of the existing (and significantly run-down) single bore well pumping station.

Design and construction work on the project was financed through the European Union’s Cohesion Fund and AS Kovek. Design work was carried out by Eesti Veeprojekt OÜ, while supervision was performed by AS Pöyry Entec and EL Konsult OÜ.  The total cost of the work inclusive of VAT was 1.47 million euros.
