On Friday, Nordecon AS and a water undertaking AS Kovek entered into a contract for the design and construction of the public water supply and waste water drains and facilities in Ääsmäe residential area.
According to Avo Ambur, member of the Management Board of AS Nordecon, the contract covers the reconstruction of both water pipelines measuring about 1.3 km and waste water pressure drains of about 0.4 km as well as the reconstruction of a bore well pump room, a waste water pump room and a water treatment plant in Ääsmäe. The project is co-funded from the Environmental Programme by the Environmental Investment Centre.
The total cost of the procurement contract amounts to €949,000 exclusive of VAT. The execution period will be 321 days.
“This contract was added to the company’s portfolio of works after we had succeeded in winning two disputes. It’s only natural that companies stand for their best interests by using the options provided by law. On the other hand, such disputable cases, the solutions found and the experience gained from them will help lessen the number of occasions, where the decisions made in the course of procurements carried out by the public sector could prejudice the best interests of a tenderer. This will help improve the entire business environment and secure fair competition.”
