Jaano Vink, chairman of the board of Nordecon AS, said, “When the Road Maintenance and Technical Division of Nordecon, Järva Teed, and Hiiu Teed join, an infrastructure company of a very considerable size will be born in Estonia, and it will be called Tariston.” Nordecon has built roads, streets, parking lots, plots, airfields, and so on since 1990 and at the same time, Nordecon’s subsidiaries – Järva Teed and Hiiu Teed, which were county-based road maintenance companies at first – have significantly expanded their operating areas and this county-based approach has now been misleading for years when speaking about these companies.
“A change in the structure of the group will also increase efficiency: Identical and similar areas are now single-handedly managed – duplicate activities will disappear, the division of tasks and responsibilities in the group will become more clear, and the quality control system will improve”, said Jaano Vink. “In the coming years, the Estonian Road Administration will carry out a number of county-based maintenance procurements for national roads and successfully participating in these is one of the priorities of the Nordecon group. Tariston brings together the whole area of road maintenance in regards to management, know-how, and specialists, and this significantly increases our competitiveness in the field and enables us to provide a better service.”
Kaspar Kaldjärv, chairman of the board of Tariston AS, said “The combined business will continue its operations in all previous fields of activity.” “We will mainly operate in all the current areas: Road maintenance and construction, land improvement operations, surface dressing, mining geology, production of road signs, and rent of heavy equipment. All of the existing rights, obligations, and cooperation agreements that our partners or clients have concluded with Järva Teed, Hiiu Teed, or Nordecon AS will still be valid and will not change. Tariston would definitely like to significantly increase its market share in the coming years and this was one of the main reasons behind the decision to create a joint company.”
Tariston AS has been constructing infrastructure objects and structures and maintaining national roads all year round since 2002. Tariston AS was created upon the merge of AS Järva Teed, OÜ Hiiu Teed, and the Road Maintenance and Technical Division of AS Nordecon on 1 January 2017. Tariston is 100% subsidiary of Nordecon AS, a company listed at the Tallinn Stock Exchange. Tariston mainly operates in the following areas: Road maintenance and construction, land improvement operations, surface dressing, mining geology, production of road signs, and rent of heavy equipment.
