This week Nordecon AS signed a contract with the Road Administration for carrying out asphalt laying work in seven different sections of the roads in Võru and Põlva County. Contractual cost of the road surface reconstruction is 3.8 million euros without VAT.
“As the winner of the public procurement, we are glad to advise you about the new contract in the field of road construction as a result of which the traffic conditions will improve in some sections of the two main highways of South-Estonia,” said Avo Ambur, member of the Management Board of Nordecon AS. “The road construction works in summer will undoubtedly affect both local road users and transit traffic, but this is inevitable and the final outcome, roads with good and reliable surface, should compensate this inconvenience in the future for a long time.”
According to Avo Ambur, asphalt will be laid on two highways on three sites. In Tallinn-Tartu-Võru-Luhamaa highway the following parts will be under construction: kilometres 220.9-230.8 in Põlvamaa and kilometres 249.6-260 in Võru County; the parts of Võru-Põlva highway, kilometres 0.7-5.2, under construction are also located in Võru County.
Approximately 24.25 km of road surface will be reconstructed in seven different sections within this contract. Approximately 256,480 m2 of new wearing course and 45,000 tons of asphalt will be laid. Additionally, 10 km of dust-free road surfaces will be laid on three gravel roads.
