On Monday, Nordecon AS and AS ASTRI-NARVA entered into a contract for the construction of the 3rd stage of the ASTRI Centre in Narva. The value of the construction contract exceeds 15 million euros.
“The construction contract entered into today confirms that Narva’s largest entertainment and shopping centre, the ASTRI Centre, will grow even larger. The border town will get a considerable amount of new modern trading and entertainment space, which should make equally happy both the local residents and numerous tourists from Russia”, said Avo Ambur, member of the Management Board of Nordecon AS.
According to Avo Ambur, the ASTRI Centre is a familiar site for Nordecon, as the previous stage of the shopping centre was also built by a company of the Nordecon Group. “It’s a pleasure to note that our tender suited the customer best this time too.”
The construction work will involve the dismantling of the one-level structure of the present shopping centre at 41 Tallinn Highway in Narva and the construction of a three-level building, which will feature about 19,000 square metres of new trading space with dining and entertainment facilities. A parking building with an open parking lot for nearly 400 cars will also be built and nearby streets will be fixed. Together with the parking building, the total area of the centre will increase to 38,000 square metres. This means that the ASTRI Centre will become the largest shopping and entertainment centre in Ida-Virumaa. The total value of investments into the annex to the shopping centre amounts to almost 20 million euros. The construction work will begin in April 2013 and the extension is scheduled to open in summer 2014.
