“The Rotermann Quarter’s a really special part of the city, truly unique, so building there comes with a lot of responsibility,” said Erkki Suurorg, a member of the management board of Nordecon AS. “After all, the buildings that are going up there will be shaping our skyline and our image of the city for years to come. Rotermann’s become a real calling card for Tallinn, particularly among tourists coming in off the ferries and the cruise ships. It’s an area with a distinguished history that’s been turned into one of the capital’s most contemporary drawcards.”
R18 was commissioned by Dollimar Invest OÜ and designed by HG Arhitektuur OÜ. Construction of the above-ground parts of the complex began last September. The buildings and structures that make up the complex have a total enclosed net area of 10,917.39 m². The entrances to the apartments and offices face onto Ahtri Street, with both sections of the building having their own stairwell. The larger section is equipped with two lifts and has two foyers on the first floor – one for the apartments and the other for the offices.
