“The Road Administration is working every day in the name of making roads comfortable to drive and safe. This is also the main purpose of these projects,” said Toomas Tõnurist, Leading Engineer of Construction of the South Road Maintenance Department of the Road Administration.
“These two contracts are both important for the road users as well as the local people: the current gravel roads in Jõgeva and Võru Counties will be covered with a dust-free surface – this is important for ensuring the safety of drivers as well as for the locals. Two bridges will also be reconstructed in Võru County,” specified Ando Voogma, Board Member of AS Nordecon.
Of the national road no. 51 between Viljandi and Põltsamaa, the 7.3-kilometre Võisiku-Kuningamäe stretch will be reconstructed at the kilometres from 35 809 to 43 109. Two layers of asphalt will be laid on a bitumen stabilised surface and the storm water system will be repaired. Two national roads of the total length of 4.8 km will also be covered with a dust-free surface in Jõgeva County. The works will be completed in seven months.
Reconstruction of basic road no. 69, the Võru-Kuigatsi-Tõrva road at the kilometres from 57 198 to 65 350, incl. construction of the bridges of Kuninga and Soontaga. Within the framework of the contract, the 8.1 km section from the Kuigatsi intersection to the Väike Emajõgi river will be reconstructed. Two layers of asphalt will be laid on a complex stabilised surface and the storm water systems will be repaired. There will also be new bridges of Kuninga and Soontaga built in the section and approximately 4 km of gravel road will be covered with a dust-free surface. The works will also be completed in seven months.
